Overview

Maryculter House is one of the most famous and historic hotels in Aberdeen located on the banks of the River Dee and overlooking the Golf Course of Peterculter.

A 4 Star luxury hotel with a classic reputation for hospitality, from the building’s founding in 1225 by the Knights Templar, this location has been offering hospitality to travellers from far and wide for many years.

The Templar were a French Knights order, that banded together to escort and protect Christian pilgrims crossing Judea on their way to the Holy Land during the time of the Great Crusades.

Men of faith, inspired with a love of God and the Church. The Order of the Knights Templar were granted part of the land of Maryculter, by King William the Lion in 1187.

Steeped in history Maryculter House, boasts beautiful original features and an atmosphere to match.

The oldest part of the hotel dates back to the time of St. John which is the present day’s “Great Hall”

Afternoon Tea at Maryculter House is a sumptuous celebration of seasonal savouries and sweet treats offering an ultimate indulgent experience.
