Overview

Just three miles from the birth place of founder John Dewar, the Aberfeldy Distillery is the only distillery built by the Dewar family. Steeped in history and craftsmanship, since 1898 our stills have produced the beautifully balanced Single Malt whisky at the heart of Dewar’s Scotch. Distillery tours take place throughout the day and include access to our atmospheric warehouse and heritage centre. Browse the distillery shop for limited editions or ‘fill your own’ bottle of exclusive Aberfeldy Single Malt whisky. Take time to relax in our café and enjoy your dram in our whisky lounge.

"We enjoyed an interesting and fun couple of hours at the Distillery. Having visited a few distilleries and knowing a little about the manufacture of whisky already we thought it would be quite similar to other distillery visits. But, there’s a real personal touch about this visit – you feel you get to know the family and understand what was important to them in their journey of making and selling whisky. We enjoyed the film and the time to explore the museum (with some interesting interactive exhibits) before being taken on the distillery tour. With so many distilleries to choose from, and the process being much the same in them all, it’s easy to think that one distillery visit is the same as another but we certainly came away feeling like we’d had a very different experience to most distillery tours. Definitely one to make time for either on your way to or from Aberfeldy. With particular thanks to Alex and George - consummate professionals clearly passionate about what they do. I’ve forgotten the name of our young guide (2.15pm Sat 29 Feb) but he was informative, entertaining and made sure everyone could hear and see and understand what the process of whisky making is all about. Great tour!"
