Leith Hall - National Trust for Scotland

Overview

Quirky historic home filled with curios from all over the world.

Discover one family’s story over ten generations.

Don’t miss the ‘boxing squirrels’ and a giant turtle shell from Ascension Island.

Wander through the beautiful garden, with its zig-zag paths, spiral-cut lawns, a moon gate and spectacular views of Aberdeenshire and the surrounding hills.

Take a walk on any of the three way-marked trails to see a brilliant variety of wildlife.

Leith Hall has played witness to Scottish history since 1650, with ten generations of the Leith-Hay family having lived here until just after World War II. They donated the house to the National Trust for Scotland along with all their furnishings and art, making it one of the most complete collections in their care, including a military exhibition, telling the story of generations of military men.
